In a remote village, two brothers find a demon-infected man who is on the verge of “giving birth” to evil itself. They decide to dispose of the body, but inadvertently cause chaos. During a Q&A with the audience after the premiere at Fantastic Fest, director Demián Rugna said that the idea for When Evil Lurks came from a series of news articles about the widespread health problems caused by agricultural pesticides in his native Argentina. He suggests that corporate apathy toward workers… health, and the way the problem has arisen “in the middle of nowhere,” where speculators and city dwellers can easily ignore the consequences of their choices, began his musings on the idea of a lurking evil that has been given free rein to spread. Ruiz aims a shotgun at a goat. Seen from behind the man with the gun, the goat’s horns appear to be growing out of its head. While it’s a clever shot, from no other angle do the horns have the right shape for this to happen. Mierta: Evil loves children. And the children love evil.. When the Child Wakes UpWritten by Miguel Roldan (as Miguel Roldan (Logos))Performed by Pasco 367Orchestrated and arranged by Pablo Fuu. A very underrated film. I watched the original version with Spanish subtitles and in my opinion that’s the best way to watch it. Either way, if you were expecting gore and horror, prepare yourself not to be disappointed because this film will really delight you! Despite everything, the film has its shortcomings. First of all, it is an obvious start to a series (you will understand this after watching the cliffhanger ending), nevertheless, this Argentinian production of a small production is not afraid to hurt someone’s feelings. One thing I can say for sure is that it is the best they have managed to achieve, but don’t expect the sequel to be even half as good.
